About Us

Welcome to UCLA's Science Lab Teaching Club! SLTC strives to get kids of all backgrounds interested in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects through engaging presentations and experiments. We are an outreach club that visits schools in the Los Angeles area to teach kids about a wide range of science topics, including topics in physics, chemistry, and biology.

We are part of the UCLA Department of Physics and Astronomy and work closely with the department's demonstration lab to bring exciting university-level demonstrations to K-12 classrooms. Examples of demonstrations we have brought to past presentations include a magnetic levitation machine and a toy Van der Graaf generator. We also try to bring fun interactive demonstrations such as hand-cranked flashlights and pH paper painting.
